Simplex 4090-9001 Enhanced Addressable Fire Alarm Module (IAM)
4090-9001 System Overview
The addressable Module commonly referred to as IAM is a crucial element in fire alarm systems that are designed to maximize the detection and control of fire. The module is able to receive communications and power via two wires of MAPNET II, or IDNet circuit, which guarantees exact location-specific addressability. It monitors the individual initiating devices, such as single-station smoking detectors alarm contacts as well as heat detector contacts. It is able to monitor multiple devices in the same time, monitoring normally dry contacts that are open and wiring integrity up to a resistor at the end of the line.
4090-9001 Key Features and Specifications:
- Robust Enclosed Design : Housed inside a robust thermoplastic casing which reduces dust infiltration.
- Simple Installation: Fits in the standard electrical single gang box for simple installation.
- Screw Terminals: Featuring screw terminals that simplify wiring connections.
- The 4090-9001 indicator for visual LEDs: Fitted by a LED visible which flashes to signal the presence of communications.
- Flexible Application: Suitable for indoor spaces that have temperatures of up to 158degF (70degC) This makes it suitable for a variety of configurations, including attic spaces.
- 4090-9001 Compatibility: Created for use in conjunction with Simplex control panels such as Series 4007ES 4008 and 4008, as well as 4010ES and 4100ES for IDNet communications.
- The 4090-9001 IAM offers reliable addressable communications that ensures accurate monitoring and control of fire alarms while being in compliance with UL Standard 864 requirements. It allows for monitoring the status of contact closure as well as momentary closure conditions for contact closure which can improve the efficiency of fire detection systems.
